Restrictions are “Effective Immediately!

Traditionally, graphite comes into short supply now and in the coming months. This is mostly due to two major Chinese producers, Jixi and Luobei shutting down for the winter. Chair of China Baowu Steel Group, said the “winter” would be “longer, colder and more difficult than we expected.” Source

I suspect that will be the same for graphite production. Both Jixi and Luobei are in China's Heilongjiang Province (top north), a region that is forecast to supply 63% of the global flake graphite supply this year, according to the Benchmark Flake Graphite Forecast, 4 Sept 2024.
