as i understand thermal storage, it is for the purpose of energy generation so i consider the two terms close to interchangeable in this case.
I agree with lack of synergy where synthetic graphite is concerned, synthetic and natural seems to be at odds on many fronts esg, emissions, etc including that it (synthetic) is a competitor to rnu in battery use.
