Good post. I saw trump wanted to undo the IRA and many Li stocks dropped. The funny thing is, it's a bit of a circus at the whitwhouse at the moment. The red necks that bolster trumps voting base want to see immediate 'change' and doing a few signatures and undoing sleepy bidens lefty acts is one way to get a shot of dopamine in these supports. What they don't understand is that the IRA fundamentally stands for what trump stands for. Building in the USA and cutting China out. I am 100% sure that if the IRA is cut, there will be a similar act under a different name put forward and not publicised.
Alternatively, there are loopholes put in future tarrifs that allow musk to sell his Chinese made Tesla's in USA without any tarrifs.
We will see. I think regardless of which president, the reliance on China for battery minerals will need to shift. The story behind it might be different, Biden maybe was ev's, trump maybe will use military and national security as a reason. (ie we need to process our own lithium and graphite and.... Becuase our fighter jets need it and China has it all blah blah) all my opinion and some thoughts on the situation, re natural VS synthetic, it depends on how expensive either is to process. From what I know (?) both work well in current lithium batteries, however if synthetic takes off, and prices aren't super high, it may not be feasible for NEW graphite explorers (ie drill the land, go thorough all the environmental hoops etc) to define a resource and build a mine. Particularly if the deposit isn't low cost. My hope for RNU is that we are very advanced short of building a mine, ontop of that the deposit is cheap to mine. It all comes down to the $$ and if energy prices are high, and feedstock for synthetic is high, then natural becomes a good option too. My 2c after being away from things for a couple of weeks
