    the underlying assumption made with the "China does it cheaper" commentary is that basic demand/supply capitalism and the globalization we have experienced in the last 30+ years are still the main drivers here... maybe the battery revolution is coinciding with a larger geopolitical one? If so, I'd argue that things will get weird in the decision-making/political/nation state/security, space... and seriously do things feel normal to you at this moment in history?
