Do people only read the headline of a video or do they follow it through to the end?
If so, the 'Electric Viking' headline will be misleading. The points made in the video from 4.50 minutes are that current batteries won't be replaced for 15 to 20 years because of such factors as "costs and material controllability." Also, solid state will mainly be used in higher-end models and may become 'commercially' available around 2030.
That's nothing new, except that it all points to the demise of the global combustion engine (ICE vehicles) sooner rather than later and advances the EV industry overall which are selling like crazy at the moment.
The real winner for natural graphite is that oil demand from China has reversed as they switch to Ev's on mass (oils biggest market). The cost of producing a barrel of oil is significantly higher in North America and Europe than in most oil-producing nations in the Middle East and Russia, and this recent video demonstrates why Trump's 'drill baby drill' strategy will not succeed (video link). Additionally, s100202 post above indicates that the consumption of pet coke, which is used to create synthetic graphite, is increasing as a result and is set to go even higher. As a result, in addition to EVs, natural graphite resources might also be used to replace industrial ones.
The bottom line is that natural graphite will have a place in the energy transition.
