Whyalla steel works takeover.
When our MD, David Christensen, was seen in Seoul in 2022 sitting next to our Premier, Peter Malinauskas, speaking with the South Korean behemoth POSCO, it was assumed that the conversation was about investing in South Australia for graphite/PSG and green hydrogen supplies. Now that there is a takeover of the Whyalla Steel plant, POSCO has been name as a possible suitor to take it over.
With a federal election looming this is too huge for the Australia's manufacturing and security requirements to fail, so both state and federal governments will dangle plenty of carrots to a lucky multinational.
This might be the nation's black swan event.
