POSCO seeing increased interest from battery manufacturers and automakers looking for ex-China supply:
CEO of POSCO Future M said, "We do not reduce the planned secondary battery business." In particular, he said that despite China's low-cost offensive, he expects to get on the "de-China" value chain and earn reflective profits. "There are love calls from various finished companies trying to get out of China," Um said, adding, "We plan to further strengthen our strengths as a battery material company that deals with both cathode and anode materials." When asked about competition with Chinese suppliers of low-priced anode materials, POSCO Future M CEO Eom Gi-chen told reporters that the government is considering supporting the company for a stable supply of battery materials. (Link)
