Here's a direct comparison of RNU vs EGR SP performance since July 2021, if you'd bought both of these companies at the same time, this is what your portfolio return/loss would look like.

The charts are self explanatory but your investment in RNU would be down 32% and in EGR down 16%. During that time frame, EGR investors were down circa 85% vs RNU investors showing profit. The returns for RNU investors started showing negative around November 2024.

Investors in both companies are sitting on profits. Unfortunately this is likely not the real world case and most would have been averaging and adding hence increasing their avg during this time, some would have sold out at loss.

EGR investors buying post 2022 at one point showed ~80% loss which is pretty close to where RNU investors currently are for the same time period.

In the last ~2yrs, yes EGR's SP performance has been better than RNU. Keep in mind that long term investors of both companies are still showing a loss.

As with all investments, timing is the key. Look back over HC post history and you'll find many people have been posting as holders in these companies forums since at least since 2021, myself included. For the ones that bought EGR post Feb 2025, well done and the ones that bought, held and didn't change their investments since pre December 2020 (of either company), you're still sitting on profits so well done to you folks too. And those that chose to take profits and pay capital gains and have been buying back in lately, good on you.

In summary: Investors of both these companies have experienced pain and joy. The maximum profits possible for an RNU investor was greater than 2000% and for EGR was around 660%. If you timed that perfectly then kudos to you however if you bought at the highs both companies are down by 90%.

Hindsight's a beatch, our only choice is to look forward. On that note: if you buy EGR now and the SP returns to pre Feb 2025 levels, you'll be down by 90% and if you bought RNU and it returns to pre Feb 2025 level then you'll be up 40%. It all comes down to which company you think will do better over the longer term especially if you're a new investor buying today.
