    Whilst I own and am pro home batteries - the economics just about stack up and with 30% grifted to the people by the people - they'll sell like the proverbial pink batts.

    But what a missed opportunity to bootstrapping a local industry or at least ensuring these batteries are made from some percentage of Aussie minerals.

    As it stands this policy will continue to support the CCP to ravage and rape the cheapest dirtiest supply lines for these minerals - a supply chain that Australia frankly needs to be more competitive in.

    There's some 588 pages of posts in this thread where we are all spruiking Tier 1 and ESG credentials (and I 100% agree with them) but if the Government subsidises Chinese BSS and Chinese EV's to the tune of billions - what's the point?!! Who cares? Albo doesn't... (PS I drive two Chinese EV's and I'm absolutely part of the problem - but without systemic change at a policy level, batteries aren't ever going to be made from cleaner / greener processes).
