The subject matter knowledge of journalists has never been lower than it is today, in an era where truth is not as important as being 1st and social media dominance ever growing, I would take any "News" article you read with a grain of salt. Always trust the industry experts IMO
I have said it numerous times, but it is even more worthy to repeat now. If you are looking for a source of truth in the battery minerals sector, there is a company by the name of Benchmark Minerals, if you are not familiar with their work, then take some time out of your day to conduct DD on the plethora of information from their coverage of the Battery Minerals + EV chain. There is no one better in the Game IMO
For what it is worth, Benchmark are forecasting that
Tesla's 4680 cells will have a higher proportion of Natural Flake Graphite than is currently in Tesla Cells today.
MORE NATURAL FLAKE, NOT LESS
Overall Natural Flake Graphite to increase Anode Market Share from 39% in 2020 to 49% by 2030. Yes silicone will have a place by 2030, currently forecasted at about 5%. But like old mate last week saying Solid State is going to take down Lithium Ion by 2025 (Lithium Ion forecasted to be over 100 times larger)
I'm concerned about our next generation if people like this are breeding to be frank
