Why would a government here do any of that when they can just import 400,000 low wage migrants per year for the next 20 years and expand the tax base while they keep pumping property, gross gdp and have no electoral backlash whatever?
Bit of a shame about everyone's wages, housing costs, medical care, native animals, having a backyard etc...but these politicians got to keep their jobs, and the way to do that is not tell anyone anything might cost them money directly.
