Nature is a closed loop and works rather well from seed to fruit, from rain to sunshine germinating seed in soil etc. Bring in man and all we've ever done is to disrupt nature.

Any technology has it's benefits and pitfalls to humans. Humans who want to control nature and. Nature perhaps is fighting back by showing man's works - environmental damage with plastics, chemical waste, chemical sprays. We leave behind an array of rubbish and toxicity. We dig and bury but what lies beneath is a plethora of unwanted material by humans that often surfaces in other ways that harm the environment and in turn humans.

Whatever happened to going to a shop with a container where someone filled it with milk, wrapped a loaf of bread in paper or even the humble milkman that used to deliver milk in bottles that were picked up and recycled over and over? Cheap plastics, that's what. But is it really that cheap - the initial cost perhaps - what about it's effects once it's disposed?? Can it really be disposed and if so at what additional cost?

Watched a video on Venice and the economic impact of the pandemic - the water in the canals are clearer, the fast food throw away packaging was minimal but so were the people contributing to the reliance on tourism.

Society shifted towards convenience - and if one looks at convenience stores one realizes that it comes with a hefty price tag.

A lot of electronic gadgets and electrical tools comes with convenience - portability, relatively short life due to being outdated ever so quickly leading to massive piles of rubbish. What is one to do with spent batteries, discarded toys etc? Where did all those analogue tv sets end up or the failed digital ones? And where will all the old fuel guzzlers end up when electric fleets come to dominate??

Meanwhile more focus on how to monetize the next big project that invariably will get caught up in the vicious cycle of where do we put it during and after processing, manufacturing and ultimately at the end of it's useful life??

Ultimately every one of us pays for convenience one way or another - though some make good money on the way, regardless of downstream consequences.

I'm not a greeny as such but one can not deny that we seem to be fighting a losing battle despite all possible good intentions. Money does not solve everything.

But of course, a little off topic perhaps. Now back to RNU and all that graphite in the ground that's waiting to be utilised in products to be made. Just a opinion.
