Patience is required with stocks like this and you can't just expect things to work out immediately after you invest. You need to be ready to hold for years. Just remember that the gains you can experience in a company like this can be astronomical and will certainly make up for any "time value" loss you are currently experiencing. If you want a sure thing invest in a blue chip, otherwise know that you are taking a risk by investing in a speculative company like this (though that risk can generate massive returns)
And yes, they will still get paid as they are employees not slaves.
