Um what? The heads of wind turbiesn do indeed rotate. And to that extent they obviously do reorientate..

But when you decide where to build the concrete bases and indeed on which side of the great divide to build the wind farm on you will have schosen priori whether you are getting the best out of one wind direction or another.
And even if in one season the wind tends to >sometimes< be from the north (melb summer) yet in winetr tends to be from somewhere else more often that in summer. Then you can chosoe whetrer to optimise you design for summrr or winter conditions.

if he time of year enegry is the most valuable then wind is of lower strength, they can not only optimise the placement of the wind farm to make the best out of that seasons wind regime (shape of its wind rose), but you can also dimension a WInd turbines such that you sacrifice genration MWH that you could get on the windiest days to get more gernation on the less windy days. (and if the les windty days MWH are more valuble thenthe trade off can be worth it)

They do that at design time too by choosing how they design the turbine. The ones designed to operate at lower windpseed max out and alower top end wind speed.

So while you dont agree what you seem to have failed to present is analysis reasoning and engineering to support what you believe.
