Macqurie can save a lot of money by not by Energy Australia and buying Genex instead. In 2 years it will have cashflow (from Hydro and various batteries and its current solar plants) plus with a wind farm plan ready to go and a Bulli Creek Hub close to planning finalisation. The scale would be smaller but it would mean it will have alot more cash to spend on projects and would not need to deal with legacy assets. Much cleaner with a view to sell in 5 years for a even bigger profit.
