It covers the Urannah Renewable Energy Hub who have been given $2 million for a pre-feasibility study from the federal govt. There’s a bit of background around about it.

The energy hub includes a 1.5GWpumped hydro with seven-hour storage capacity, 1.3GW solar, 500MW wind and a200MW hydrogen electrolyser is being investigated to support export scale hydrogen production. The hub would be developed in conjunction with a proposed water scheme between Collinsville, Proserpine and Mackay that would provide water for coking coal producers. So, primarily an industrial and commercial consumer.

At scale, it requires the Urannah Water Scheme to go ahead (uncertain), it could potentially deliver a smaller hub if this is unable to proceed. 2027 is optimistic for as they’re at pre-feasibility, maybe 2029/2030 for the pumped hydro with the wind/solar delivered earlier, if necessary.
