There are a number of ways to research companies/sectors/markets loosely grouped as fundamental and technical analysis. The technical side is just a study of the price and volume and can very helpful or misleading, just as dodgy accounting and misinformation can be. A combination of the 2 is probably the best way to go. t/a can help with timing entry and exits and most importantly minimising losses.
