Maybe some people will just recharge their EV at petrol stations like they do for refilling their petrol or diesel vehicles. In some Nordic territories, Shell is replacing fuel pumps with Super chargers for its customers. Two out of eight bowsers are Super chargers. It is all demand driven.

Existing Apartment electrical infrastructure is based on pre-EV power demands so electrical infrastructure upgrades and new design standards will need to be established.

Improving battery performance will speed up recharge times but this technology is still evolving.

Just think, recharge stations can be setup anywhere power is reticulated too. Hence you could one day recharge at work, dog park, shopping centre, school, side street, etc. Local councils could get on board and generate revenue from rate payers via street charging outlets.

We all drive ICE vehicles and don't need to refill in our garage or driveway. However having an EV with the ability to refuel it for ~20% of the liquid fuel price each week is an attractive option for me. Plus electricity prices will be more stable, not impacted by foreign oil supply disruptions.

Each countries transport system can't be held ransom to Big Oil companies price gauging anymore. While it should be noted, the number of Oil refineries in Australia is declining, WA relies on Asian fuel imports. Strategically, we need to go EV's to move away from foreign oil dependence.
