A RCS Global 2016 report on battery metal supply chain issues highlights as the demand for battery metals increase, so will the number of regional incidents and issues. Risks associated with global pandemics were not even on the radar back in 2016. Of late, emergence of Labour and skill shortages due to Covid border closures are having a real impact on project development timelines across the industry. A global shortage of sea-containers is leading to higher transport costs for raw materials and inflationary pressures. What unknown risks are yet to impact the battery metal supply chain? Time will tell.
The Sunrise Project will avoid many of these potential supply chain risks.
The next graphic shows the move to new industry standards and emergence of new laws within the supply chain matrix which business needs to navigate through.
I see Sunrise Energy Metals management team being an industry leader as it strategically develops the massive Sunrise Project. Management have actively engaged with International industry representatives (both battery & car manufacturers) over the past 2+ years and all levels of government to progress the project.
To establish responsible sourcing of battery metals, RCS Global proposed the following three stages to responsible sourcing leadership. I think Sam and Robert are well and truly going down this path to establish Sunrise Project as a benchmark battery metal refinery.
