My understanding was that there were professional relationships between some of the early managers at EBR and Australian investors such as Mark Carnegie which resulted in them being early investors. The other major early backers included Australian super funds such as Hesta, Australian Super and Hostplus. The Australian listing was done to facilitate these early investors.
