The FAR clowns only care and are incentivised to string this out for as long as possible so they can keep milking their huge salaries. Being demonstrably incompetent (and therefore unemployable) they will never see that kind of wedge ever again on a regular basis so the last thing they want is a fast takeover or a quick sale.
