I have previously queried NMT about Mercedes battery recycling partnership with CATL in China and their response was that they are not surprised given we have no presence in China and that it doesn’t impact our plans.
Don’t see why we couldn’t be CATL’s partner in Europe as referenced in that article. Our recoveries are similar and potentially better for lithium. SMS plant building capacity (scale and quality) would be appealing for CATL. Chris Reed was also reverently in Hungary where CATL are building a plant to supply Mercedes and BMW. I could of course be completely off the mark. All IMO and DYOR.
