What I think will happen here is NMT will sell more of the project than they would like in order to avert the need to raise funds.
So instead of selling 70% - 80% of the project, they may end up selling 80% - 90%, and retain a much smaller percentage.
There are a lot of positives with remain to this project, the long term binding off take with a tier 1 customer, 80% debt guarantee from the government, string green credentials (not that they are with a lot right now with the world in turmoil), and production costs on the lower end of the cost curve.
This will be a good short term outcome if this is what happens, but a bad long term outcome, no matter how he tries to spin it.
Chris will no doubt be humbled from the last 6 months.
The almost 90% decline in share price, the extremely low cash on hand, the sale of Mt Marion before the boom and the generous paying out of dividends that depleted the war chest.
I've got no doubt he's respected for his technical knowledge, but I strongly feel he'll need to work hard to re-establish himself as a great strategic thinker and CEO.
