Yep for sure - do you take your old Ford/Holden/Toyota/etc down to the dealer to get crushed & steel/copper etc recycle, then shipped back to the assembly factory ?
They are in the business of making, marketing & selling cars/trucks not recycling them.
I guess economics 101 could argue - vertical integration - is a better model these days to protect supply chain BUT could just as easily argue that 'specialisation & division of labour' is the way to go to get the most efficient process.
