I agree price (total cost of ownership relative to alternatives) is always a key selling point. Do you or anyone have accurate information on the percentage cost of a ZBM versus the best alternative? My best assumption is that it is 10% to 30% but I can't point to any current real figures on this.

li batteries are not increasing in cost because of materials cost. You can get an EV replacement battery of around 50kWh for under $20k. So it’s other costs keeping a powerwall up, not the lithium/nickel price - actually, it’s more likely it’s just set at a market price that can be easily dropped if they ever face real competition. When Lithium Sulphur batteries start getting made in bulk (2024-25), energy densities will triple - think what that does to competitors’ transport/installation/non-materials cost. As of today, a ZBM2 is more expensive than lithium. Is there a realistic future in which it gets cheaper than lithium?
