John Cadogan at Autoexpert on YouTube got stuck into this fire yesterday. Asking questions like:
    • Why was there no-one present at the site (or at least remotely) to raise the alarm when temps in that cell began to rise?
    • Given the consequences of fire to surrounding structures, why are there not concrete walls around these modules to prevent fire spreading to neighbouring units? (Blast walls were built throughout munitions factories 100 years ago to limit damage if one area went up.)
    • Why was there no plan for handling a fire?
    • Shouldn't there be a big water tank to dump on the burning cell to quench it at the start, rather than letting it burn itself out and dump toxic fumes all over the neighbourhood?
    • Why was it located right on the edge of a residential area where residents are at risk, rather than out in the sticks where people ae less likely to be injured?

Really, it is about time we had safety regulations for batteries like we do for major chemical plants and anything nuclear.
