Knowing as little as I do, the first thing that came to mind was that internet advancements have made stock market investments so much more accessible to the average joe like me, I probably wouldn't be in this game otherwise. We have at our fingertips a wealth of up to date information on companies, discussion groups like HC to give us some confidence and one click trading through our banks.
I wonder how much this factor has shifted people's money away from traditional investments like property and into shares, and how much that factor accounts for the "bubble". Is it perhaps not even really a bubble, just an unprecedented shift in attitude from the entire population, pushing far greater wealth into shares?
Or do the regular joes not own enough of a % of the market to be responsible for that?
It doesn't feel like the last bubble..
