    Hot Rock,
I was specifically discussing the Bakken Formation as it was brought up. In most instances the Bakken produces 5-20 bbl/day from vertical wells and around 10 times that much when drilled horizontally circa 500 to 1000 meters and fracture stimulated in the region of 100 tonnes of sand. The fracture treatment is massive and requires roughly 25 trucks of gear to complete. In Canada for example the cost of this frac would be circa 300k all up, with the horizontal well costing around 1.5 Million to drill.

I realise there is frac gear in Australia, however my comments pertained to a} cost and b} equipment. I couldn't open the PDF on Buru, but off hand, I can't remember them drilling a horizontal well, so if it isn't a horizontal well, it is a much easier propositon to throw a 5 to 10 million tonne frac at it.

Still I would love to see the cost of doing this frac, whether it be small or big.

    OS
