You may have seen this cross section in SEI January 2024 presentation. I have added the two zones that I believe Mopane-1X has reported as significant light oil discoveries.
It is interesting that the Mopane -1X discovery is the first light oil discovery east of the "Outer High" as per the RISC map below. I am sure that GALP were sweating it that the only discovery east of the 'Outer High/Marginal Ridge' was the Kudu Gas field. And so Mopane might be gas as well!
Perchance this is the 'new exploration model' that GALP were referring to as per my interpretation superimposed on the Sintana geologic cross section?
But certainly can be speculated that positive for Saturn/PCL as Saturn is east of the 'Outer High'.
All speculation on my part.
