Knowing Woodside very well from the inside I can tell you they would have the Merger team focusing on the potential Merger and the rest of the company working on all the other aspects of the business and that includes Explorations teams, Productions teams, Green Energy teams, New Science teams the list goes on.....they do not stop everything to just focus on one thing, no decent size company does that, big companies have many moving parts as you would expect and they all play their part in keeping the machine moving forward....can guarantee that the team looking at PEL 87 are not on a smoko break until the Merger is dealt with....they will be doing what they are paid and tasked to do!
