Just thinking out loud here given Galp's comment that "by late March (only six weeks away)...we should have a very good view on the volumes of the reservoirs that we’ve hit." This given that they "will have drilled the Mopane-2X appraisal well and carried out a drill stem test on the discovery well."
The timeline then looks like:
- Feb / Mar - results from Total's Venus-2A and Shell's Jonker-2A.
- Mid-late Mar - remaining 3D deliverable (truncated final migration gathers) to be received by PCL.
- Late Mar - results from Galp's Mopane-2X appraisal and DST on Mopane-1X.
- Mid-May - WDS lead networking sponsor at African Energies Summit.
- Jun - Deepsea Bollsta released by Shell.
From the Upstream article today also, "Given concerns about the speed of the energy transition away from fossil fuels, Silva said the company is “
acutely aware of the value of bringing production on in Namibia as soon as possible - you can rest assured, nothing is going to get delayed.” He told analysts that Galp is doing a lot of work already to make sure that, “in parallel with the process of potential divestment”, it is de-risking the block through more exploration and appraisal wells."
Another indication that both the majors and Namibian govt are wishing to push forward and quickly. So when is the WDS farm-in? April or early May is my guess.
