    Great post Jibby.

One could speculate that as part of the GALP sell down process of a 40% equity in PEL 83 and Mopane in its search for a major with deep water production experience to take over as Operator, that ALL the majors including TotalEnergie, Shell, Chevron, Woodside, Exxon and those not yet in this 'hot basin' will be visiting the GALP PEL 83 data room, of course under the appropriate Confidentiality Agreement.

I have noted that many people still think that Woodside is a NW Shelf company with some exploration/production offshore West Africa and forget that with its merger with BHP Petroleum, there is now considerable deep water production experience in-house in Woodside from BHPP's deep water offshore US Gulf Coast production!

It will be interesting to see who ends up as the buyer and operator of PEL 83. I would love it to be Woodside as would enhance their knowledge of the PEL 87 prospects, but they will have to compete with the very deep pockets of Exxon and the other majors.

As a PCL shareholder, the PEL 83 sale result should provide a valuation metric for PCL's current 20% interest for any discovery, if made, in PEL 87/ Saturn.
