I think that the 829 figure was a figure that was decided before the discoveries of Total, Shell and Galp.
These discoveries have enabled the geologists to reassess the geology of the Orange basin.
This assessment would have been made after the Moosehead failure and therefore may have influenced the analysists to disregard the reflections that were analogous to the Moosehead 2Dseismic and declare them to be barren whereas after the Total discovery these formations have now been reassessed to be Oil bearing.
Sintana have said that Saturn is a Venus lookalike geologically.
From that I deduce that the 829 figure needs to be substantially revised up.
The map that was released from PCL where they showed 7 prospective drill points with depth indicators tells me that we are looking at multiple Billions of Barrels, whether or not it is 40 .... or more or less .... is something that we can dream about or wring our hands over.
Iain's Freudian slip, I believe, was deliberate and was a conclusion that has been discussed within the PCL management group but they are not prepared to release formally.
These are my musings and I have no evidence to assert the accuracy of the figures .... Do your own research.
