Retirement is a big decision !!! I have recently seen the costs associated with the near to end of life situations where the costs of going into care require a contribution to the Care Home of $500K per person then not having any pension to fund any additional necessary spending. That figure will continue to escalate as inflation continues and potentially gets much worse. Others I have association with who have spent close to $100K travelling Europe .... and that was on a low cost travel regime ..... Clearly I don't know your specific economic situation but I just would like to warn you to be very careful and to take everything into account before making such a decision as the pitfalls of retirement are not always visible and when they loom up can be very daunting. One couple has told me that they believe that you need at least $4million in todays dollars to retire from a late 60's age group and have an average lifestyle .... especially if you are paying tax on your retirement income ....... Whatever your choice .... I wish you much happiness !!!
