Yup Bill, you are mostly correct - Namibia is much more in favour than south africa right now.
So far the majors have retreated from the south offshore basin (Total) and east offshore basin (Shell) and inland basin (Shell).
However, I don't think anyone has given up on the western offshore (Orange) basin in south africa yet.
The Orange Basin is the last hope for south africa - the ANC had better not obstruct and delay the current offshore block owners, otherwise they will never get any gas to counter their gas cliff (due to Mozambique Sasol gas fields depletion).
