There has been some questions about where the 40 Billion Barrels figure comes from so I though that I would do some simple calculations .... I will make some bold assumptions so please treat this as a discussion piece and not a definitive answer to the question.

The rough area of the Saturn Super fan area from the rough(ruff) maps published by PCL and Sintana is 75km by 50km.
Thats 3750sq km which is 3.75Billion sq metres.
For every 1 metre of depth per square metre of area that is 1000 litres of volume which gives us 3750 Billion Litres.
There are approximately 156 litres in a barrel of Oil so dividing 3750 by 156 gives us 240 Billion barrels.
If the porosity is 20% then we get 48 Billion Barrels.
If the porosity is 15% then we get 36 Billion Barrels.
Remember this is for each 1 metre of reservoir depth.
The area of Saturn that the company published was 2400 sq kilometres so adjusting the figures to their area we reduce the results by 2400/3750 or 0.64.
    So 48 x 0.64 = 30.72
    36 x 0.64 = 23.04

Remember this is for an average of 1 metre of reservoir depth and does not allow for comparmentalization or any other variants that may be occurring at depth.

This is for discussion only and should not be relied upon for investment purposes.
I invite any geo's or other people to comment.
