Maybe, as was suggested in some earlier posts, they want to talk to another major to share the exploration costs or to compare seismic data with to assist with the selection of the best initial drill location.
They may through Meg's past association with Exon or, as has been speculated, something to do with Chevron be in talks or wanting to be in talks with them but the lack of the agreement with the 3D might be hindering such.
