Good article - and really demonstrates how quickly the big boys/girls can move, if needed. Chevron entered PEL90 as operator in October 2022. Completed a 3D seismic in Q2FY23 (April), Completed analysis/processing/interpretation in Q1FY24 (Feb24), and will be drilling in Q4FY24. So technically about 3 quarters (8-9months) between wrapping up 3D analaysis/interpretation, to actually getting permitting/environmental permitting in place to drill.
I tend to sway towards your suspicion also, that wds is strategically blockading progress - to observe/learn more from Q4 drills (which in their shoes is probably sensible)..as frustrating as it is for little pcl and their partners. Our October quarterly will need to address this concern with shareholders - as reasonable timelines have very clearly slipped. I trust Iian is fighting the good fight for the company.
