Correct. You typically can't escape these algorithimic trading strategies - they really standout in small cap low liquidity stocks. Typically they'll be trying to control the vwap (volume weighted average price) of the daily and weekly timeframes. From a vwap perspective, we actually ended the day at
0.01854. Looking at the quick snippet of the trades today (sorted by value of the trade), hardly any were of meaningful value; and all else outside screen below $300 each. The trading strategy will typically be trying to accumulate over x timeframe with x volume; or distribute over x timeframe with x volume. It will also create it's own liquidity (if that is part of the startegy parameters), and effectivly by and sell to itself. As an example that HL (hidden liquidity) trade of 11,100 at 0.0185, will likely be stacked in the order queue again at 0.019 - for a quick profit and provide overhead pressure to keep the vwap down. It's a real sht show to be honest, and the odss are always stacked against retail - best thing to do is buy low, hold long, sell high (easier said than done). Good thing is, when volume comes into them, these algo strategies can sometimes drive a sp way higher (or way lower) than where it should be. We have some big real catalysts coming up, so just sit back and relax imo.
