Hi Tattinbar, Following on your post and Drswing's Post #:77537509 Look at the Albian channel system circled 1 on the PCL 3D seismic line and PCL play types below. The Albian channel system is on the far lefthand side of the PCL 3D seismic line with the red square outlining it. PCL has mapped a large Albian channel belt complex here, about 8 kms wide. This is not one channel belt complex filled with one tank of sand, but a complex of multiple channel systems, with multiple reservoir fairways. To interpret where the reservoir fairways are in the channel belt complex and then of those, which ones alsohave Class II/III AVO anomalies, takes time and is a complex process. If you do not get this right, the odds of drilling a dry hole escalate. I hope the picture below helps to explain what I am trying to say and why it is a lengthy process.
The interpreted channel belt complex in the 3 panels (blue outline) above PCL's 3D seismic line, show potential reservoir fairways within the complex belt complex. In my view, this is a useful analogue for what the PCL Albian channel system may look like and what PCL are having to interpret.
Then there are the Cenomanian channels (3 on the PCL play types), which are probably also channel belts with multiple reservoir fairways within. ,
