I listened to the August 8, 2024 PCL Webinar again today. I had forgotten this bit, but back then PCL mentioned that they were focussing on two (2) main play-types. Play-type one (1) was the main Saturn Complex which we now think contains the AVO-supported ORYX and HYRAX leads. Play-type two (2) mentioned was at the deeper Aptian-Barremian level (see below), where there is a "
very interesting basin floor fan feature, potentially analogous to the Venus basin floor fan".
PCL alsoreiterated in this Webinar that any leads generated, must be corroborate with WDS before any market announcements. So,as we have already concluded, WDS must also have ORYX and HYRAX in their lead inventory and authorised PCL to release these leads in the latest Quarterly, along withthe most-detailed subsurface commentary yet. So, do I think ORYXand HYRAX are the best leads matured to date? Possibly, but based on what PCL said back inAugust last year regarding the
“very interesting basin floor fan feature" in thedeeper Aptian-Barremian section, perhaps the deeper Aptian-Barremian basinfloor fan (BBF) lead will jump the queue. Maybe the best is to come and WDS are keeping their finest powder dry. If it does jump the queue, they will need a strong technical argument to support enhanced reservoir quality given the Venus BBF sands are in the 2-4mD range. More to come in this space.....
