    This is a fantastic note @OldGeo. I has read the GeoExpro article earlier and had seen the PCL images, but those pockparks clearly missed my eye over Saturn. Hey I am not a geo (that's my excuse).

    Curious question here -- say there are escape valves here and the fluids / gases have continued to escape through that over millenniums. I would think over the same period, the source rock itself would also be continuing to generate fluids/gases and releasing it upwards. At what point then does it become a question of rate of generation > rate of escape (a full bellied reservoir) or rate of generation < rate of escape (dry wells) ? And how do geologists model that or observe that?
