Woodsides decision to release PCL from the joint venture came as a shock to many of us.
It may however turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
It gives PCL and its joint venture partners the opportunity to consider approaches from all the other Oil and Gas companies in the world some of whom are National Oil Companies like Petrobus and the Chinese Oil Major( I forget it's name). Also there is Chevron, BP, Esso and Shell who I believe will have a good look together with a large number of mid level companies as well. I expect there to be tyre kickers as well ...... keen to be part of a major discovery but without the resources to take it to completion.
I discount that Total and Galp will be serious about taking us on as they already have a huge FID in front of them to bring their discoveries to production and as in the case of Total as Jibby has just shown us it will be enormous and in very deep water ..... so very expensive.
I think that we will be very surprised and happy with the interest that will be shown in this open data room.
The only negative that I see is the Global uncertainty that has been triggered with the establishment of a new New World Order and the realignment of Global trade.
New Tariffs will be negotiated between Nations and States rebalancing the World trade in all commodities which may include Oil and Gas.
