i know most are over the wait and i get shot down for my optimism often enough.
What i cant agree on is that we will be waiting months for a deal.
Heres why,
If data room has been open for 3 or so weeks, Pancon have already done the heavy lifting and identified leads to speed DD dramatically. Noting that we have high quality 3D which apparently derisks COS dramatically.
BP, Petrobas, QATAR surely as they hold interest in multiple leases in the OJ Basin. Shell, apparently evaluating bids for Mopane, Total clearly but may be out if they lock in Galp.
Imo Exxon would have tag teamed with Woodside if they were interested. Exxon also opted out from bid on Mopane.
Cevron pel90 on hold but apparenty considering acquiring a stake in Mopane.
Just a few we know of but AI claims there over a dozen interested companies in Mopane.
A bird in hand, Galp has oil beats Pancon does not.
Once Galp has locked in partner/s, at least 11 majors will inevitably miss out. (Assuming 2 majors share 40% of Mopane.
Do you honestly believe more than 11 majors will wait 3 to 6 months and risk missing a golden opportunity like Saturn?
My thoughts only but once Mopane is off the market, things will happen quickly for Pancon. If not sooner.
