At the field’s shallow-water location, gas would be sent from subsea wells to a floating production unit — where the liquids will be stripped out — before being piped 195 kilometres to the power barge in Elizabeth Bay."

"Shino said, as a result, the Windhoek authorities are mulling over plans to also build a petrochemical complex in Namibia and create a blue hydrogen project which would convert the gas into hydrogen for export. This latter option could build on plans in hand to develop Luderitz as a green hydrogen hub. Shino told Upstream that liquefied natural gas exports are also being considered. “We’re busy updating the [Kudu] field development plan so there are a number of pathways we’re looking at; LNG is one of them; floating LNG is another option, as is compressed natural gas. These are all in the basket of opportunities that we are looking at.”
