Thanks all. If you want proof of the pudding, situate Sanbrado and newer WAF mines just north of Kalgoorlie or around Yellowknife and see what the share price would be.
I worked for seven years across sub-Saharan Africa in strategic market analysis. Any company working within Africa needs that rare combination of deep pockets; resilience and patience; operational competence and flexibility; a majority local workforce, embedded, imbued and corporately trained; trust and care for their community and physical environment; sound and judged political connections, kept at arms length; consistent and reliable suppliers; honest and positive corporate communications back home; redundancy across several jurisdictions/countries/markets especially if operating in the bigger ones as SA or Nigeria; ... um and aside from a thousand other standard technical or professional skills, a nice dollop of luck.
WAF seems to tick most or all of those boxes (except geographical diversity).
