I've never really bought into the USD Gold vs AUD Gold thing based on operation location. If you're reporting profit in AUD and your SP is reported in AUD then these metrics should be aligned to the AUD gold price. It doesn't matter at what stage of the operation you make the conversion, it all equals out in the end.
