PB1 is only an indication that gas is below. 100m off to the side and they could miss it all together. Have seen it physically before. Have had a production platform right next door and when the needle is stuck in next to it all you get is water.
Just because they found it at PB1 does not mean they will strike it at PB2.
We find more dusters than successes and thats with all the fancy research done before we have even been hired to do the job.
That being said sometimes it proves to be true. And what was a two bit company becomes one of the stories of the year.
