How are ASX 50 companies selected?
Constituents are selected by a committee from Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
All companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) are ranked by market capitalisation. Exchange traded funds (ETFs) and Listed Investment Companies (LICs) are ignored. The top 50 ASX stocks that meet minimum volume and investment benchmarks then become eligible for inclusion in the index.
Rebalances are conducted quarterly in March, June, September and December
I couldn't find anything on what volumes were needed and what investment benchmarks are relatifeto being listed on asx50.usedul to know given Andre comments that some companies doing 8-10 billion are listed on asx100 but not asx50. I will call ASX Tomo and ask them.
Surely as one of the mosttraded stocks this and last year we meet any volume requirements. Our total number of shares traded and value of those shares exceed CBA or Afterpay more often than not now so lots of liquidity
