    Good stuff, Pooh!

Affirms my view the major metal shortages in the electrical revolution will be Cu and also Al, this belief shared by little BHP.

The sorts of shortages outlined by Trafigura will oblige 'inducement pricing' to bring new mines into production. That number is way above Cu at $US12,000t. Trafigura would be reluctant to share its eye-watering internal projections from fear of derisive disbelief. The key beneficiaries will be existing producers who will have money thrown at them. The sheer lack of alternatives makes coming demand absolutely insistent - manufacturers either get copper or go out of business, it is that simple.

I have good Cu exposure, yet I constantly worry whether this is sufficient, given the scale of what is unfolding.
